I DID only buy 2 caneles, and the owner is from France, born and raised. They must be as good.
I discovered the shop with Joel one summer afternoon. or maybe spring. We had gone to Bill the Butcher and found a swiss chocolate shop. On our next visit to that chocolate shop we found it had been replace by the Inès Pâtisserie. I have to admit I am delighted to have the replacement. Later in the summer, a new french bakery has opened further east on Madison St. It's good, very good in fact, but it does not make caneles. These are special and are so delicious. Worth the drive to Madison Valley. And Gail Lopez, you can send them to us any time!

I agree with the spirit, but the numbers are scary. On the Qantas A380 there are 14 first class "suites": 3% of the seats. Another 16% of the seats are business class. Another example of the 1% being underestimated?

As to NYT letter writer Alan Weiss. His 2-day seminar in Sydney was priced at $6500. ($5500 if booked two months in advance, what a bargain). Probably did okay...

It's too bad we only have turkey once a year. I think this may be the best dressing I've made, with fennel and chicken sausage and caramelized apples. Also the Delectica Squash soup shots were out of this world. Yum. The menu was topped off with haricot verts and caramelized onions, cranberry chutney (that is going to show up on a thumbprint cookie), two lovely red wines and a delicious blackberry pie. Thanks to Marcia, Paul, Phyllis and Sándor for the great additions. Is thanksgiving really thanksgiving without pumpkin pie? Jessica sweetly made sure her mom got one even if it was store bought. It faintly reminded me of pumpkin pie and the thoughtfulness was much appreciated. Great company, really good food and delightful conversation.
